seanbury:

Hey, if I’ve stopped following you recently, here’s why:

1.)  You post too many fucking pictures.  I’m not talking overall.  I’m talking more than 3 pictures in a row.  Tumblr isn’t good for albums.  Don’t fill up my dashboard with post after post that is just one photo.  Just post one or two photos with a link to your flickr or whatever web 2.0 bullshit photo album you use.

2.)  You post too much, too quickly.  Look at your dashboard.  If you have three posts in a row from yourself with nothing in between, then wait a fucking minute.  In fact, wait a day.  Which leads me to my next point…

3.)  You post too much cumulatively.  I have a few friends whose posts I really want to see.  If you post more than, say, 5 times a day, you are ruining my experience.  You’re cluttering up my screen with inane bullshit and reblogs that offer no further commentary.

4.)  You use Tumblr like Twitter.  That’s fucking stupid.  Twitter is useless shit.  I will accept no rebuttals on this point.  Twitter is useless.  Acknowledge this fact and move on.

5.)  You do not post things that are empirically interesting: Only items about yourself or what you are doing.  You are a Braglr.

I know I control my own destiny on this platform — and can unfollow at any time.  Which is what I choose to do now.  Feelings aside, I just wanted you to know why.  If you’re sad that I’m no longer following you, these rules are available for your review any time.

I just think it’s time to stop coddling you.

I wasn’t on the internet for a few days but saw this post from yesterday and I was floored by it. We have all said the exact same thing to our selves time and again but now someone has finally laid it all out there.  I believe that if we follow these rules that Sean has laid out, it make our Tumblr’ing experience that much better.  My question is, how did this not reblogged over and over?

Who dropped the ball on this?  Why did no one reblog this finely crafted mission statement? Are we cowards?  Are we too scared to admit that we commit the crimes above.  Maybe we don’t want to look ourselves in the mirror and accept the fact we brag alot on tumblr.  I know I have, I can admit the mistakes I have made, cough *rugby pictures* cough, but now I can accept my sins and move on, and so can you.

Please learn from those mistakes via Sean’s Tumblr Commandments and spread his Gospel.

Also, the porn is cool.  Let’s not mess with the Tumblr porn.  This is a good thing.
